In seinem Blog kritisiert Michael Foley, Vorsitzender der Bluetooth SIG, das Fehlen des A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Dieses Profil ist zuständig für die Übertragung von Hifi-Stereo Audio Daten zu Bluetooth Kopfhörern, -Headsets, -Boxen usw. Ein Kommentator des Artikels ergänzt, dass wohl auch OBEX (einfaches Senden/Empfangen von Dateien) und HID (Keyboard etc.) fehlen.
Schade, dass Apple hier seine Konsumenten feindliche Politik fortsetzt, Standards gar nicht oder nur unvollständig zu unterstützen, das ist insbesondere deshalb ärgerlich, weil das iPhone ja ansonsten sehr gelungen scheint. M. Foley vermutet, das Apple wohl ein eigenes Format für seine eigenen kabellosen Produkte lancieren will:

Apple may be under the impression that they can create an entire ecosystem of wireless peripherals for the iPhone and iPod in which they control by licensing the proprietary interface into the devices. (This approach is similar to what Microsoft did with the Xbox 360, but exactly opposite what Sony did with the PS3.)

Nun, gut aussehen werden sie wohl wenigstens.
