The Bluetooth SIG introduced the concept of Bluetooth technology as an "umbrella" for other wireless standards at the Seattle All Hands Meeting in 2006. At that time, the Bluetooth wireless umbrella included UWB and NFC. On 12 June 2007, the Bluetooth SIG (…) announced the long-anticipated introduction of Wibree technology under the umbrella.
